Type 2 diabetes can feel like a maze of medical terms, mixed messages and a lack of proper understanding of the metabolic disease
We aim to bring straight talk and smart science together so you can finally see what’s really going on, from insulin resistance to everyday health choices . What we call….
Our mission? To make the complex simple and help you take back control of your health, one clear insight at a time
We only examine Type 2 diabetes and the run up to that diagnosis. Focussing on the path to better health, explaining why it’s much more than just how to manage type 2 properly
We may mention some Type 2 co-morbidities along the way for context (disease that comes along with Insulin Resistance) but we do not look at Type 1 diabetes at all, that is a different disease and outside the purvey of this web site
Type 1: Autoimmune problem where the body attacks and destroys insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. This is not a lifestyle issue
Type 2: The body still makes insulin, but the cells stop responding to it properly. Poor diet and lifestyle habits are the main reasons this resistance develops and worsens over time

From Medication to Remission: If I only knew then what I know now
I’m Mark, 61 years old. After over 5+ years of living with Type 2 diabetes (plus the 10+ years being pre-diabetic!) and a growing list of prescriptions, I finally found a different path
My story isn’t about a new diagnosis, although we do cover the whole disease progression including new diagnosis, but more about finally finding what works after years of frustration, declining health and an increasing number of medications
For years, every check-up meant more medication, not more understanding. No one was explaining why things were getting worse — only how to try and manage it – which it turns out is an impossible task without making changes. More drugs is definitely not the answer here
Appointments were a year apart and I never saw the same diabetic nurse twice. Looking back, I can only assume that a type 2 veteran like myself was assumed to know all about diabetes (I didn’t) but apart from the message ‘eat better, less booze and exercise more’ my real understanding level of diabetes was ZERO
That changed when I took personal responsibility by taking matters into my own hands. My health was slowly declining and the drugs were not working well. However, following a deep dive into how Type 2 really works, I turned my health around — and reached remission in just three months. Honestly, 3 months is all it took
Was it difficult? No, not really. not at all actually! The detail of what I did is elsewhere on this website but I had reached the point where I was open and ready for meaningful change, determined to change…. and get well again.
Now, I’m sharing what I’ve learned: clear, practical insights that strip away the jargon and make sense of the science
People deserve to understand their condition — and know that change is possible, at any age and any stage improvements can be made

We Are Trying to Be Different
Most diabetes sites drown you in jargon or copy-paste content. We don’t do that.
We cut through confusion with:
- Visual explainers that make science make sense
- Plain language, not textbook talk
- Actionable insights, not information overload
This isn’t about dumbing things down — it’s about making things click.

And Finally……
Understanding Type 2 isn’t just about managing blood glucose numbers, it’s about seeing the full picture

From insulin resistance to comorbidities, from what’s happening inside your body to how you feel every day, we connect the dots
When you understand what’s happening to your body, you can act with confidence and not bumble along in confusion, ignorance or worse still, believing you are doing the right things when you aren’t getting better
